Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

Kodak moment

Congrats on your upcoming graduation, SPC Shea Michael Knox

Meanwhile, back at the Ranch

We've made it and are up & running in Qatar, again. Our trip was long, but good. No lost luggage, delayed flights, or anything remotely negative....well, not counting the Europeans. There's nothing like Texans traveling across the world with our big smiles & eager to speak attitude. Kristi & I haven't figured it out yet, but they really don't appreciate our humor, quick wit, or friendliness. Don't speak unless spoken to seems to be their motto. Anyway, once we boarded Qatar Airways airbus in Germany people were once again warm and welcoming, and we were back on track. Hot & humid were the words of the day on arrival. Wow, that's all I have to say about that. I'm having to get reQatarized. Remember my washer dryer/combo (yeah, I tried to forget about it to), I'm having to relearn how to use the confounded thing. Trust me, it's not like riding a bike. Other than the dust & cobwebs that David apparently ignored while we were gone, everything was good back at the ranch. Speaking of the ranch, our original one back in Port Neches is on the market. We've purchased another house in Kyle, Tx as our primary residence. It is strategically located between San Marcos & Austin, so that Dustin & Kayla can commute easily to college. Yes, they are now masters of a domain. Quite scary, but I have faith that they can do this (repeat 10 times & say 5 Hail Marys). Just an FYI out there for those that don't know, Shea is graduating from basic training tomorrow morning at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Kayla & Regina are standing in for me & David. Also, David's parents & sister (Sherry) are going to offer their praises & support at this special occasion. We are very proud & are awaiting pics of Shea looking spiffy in uniform. That's it from our new home front. Just vegging out today recovering from the trip. Will be talking to y'all soon.
