After I spoke to you last, David, Dustin and I dropped Kristi at City Center for bowling with her Doha friends. Dustin decided that since we were already at the mall, he was in need of some new shoes to match his "Italia" jacket that he got from Santa. You have to know Dustin, it's very important that your shoes coordinate with your outfit. He also spotted a pretty fly purple jacket, but wasn't sure if his current clothing line would match it. We

Boys' Day Out
Day 3 in Pics
Dustin and Ryan paid a visit to Al Jazeer Saloon for their "cultural" haircut experience. Ryan just opted for a shave, not knowing if they would know what to do with his hair in this country. Kayla, Kristi & I stood outside the window and observed for a while. It was interesting to say the least. Ryan was going through all the massage ritual while Dustin was getting his hair cut. Dustin said it took everything he had to keep from bursting into all out laughter when Ryan's chair started bouncing up and down from his vigorous massage. I'm not so sure how Ryan felt about it, but Dustin's already asked if he can get another haircut before he leaves the country.

Girls' Day Out
I was awakened by my 21 year old baby girl crawling in bed with me this morning. Apparently I was the last one to rise. I think the boys were up shortly after 1:00am. It doesn't help your jet lag clock readjust when you go to bed at 4:00pm. Eventually they'll get on schedule.

They Have Arrived!

We collected the kids last night a little after 11:00pm Doha time and as I had predicted, Kayla on cue asked if we could open presents when we got home. Delay of gratification never was the kids' forte. So while the girls showered off the twenty two hour journey (at my insistence), Dustin and Ryan waited patiently. The unwrapping ensued, and as always I found it amazing how they can undo what took so many hours to prepare
in so little time. That's Dustin showing off his new camera that didn't quite make it in time and the "magic carpet" that he's always wanted. After our Christmas gathering, the kids crashed into never never land and were up amazingly early considering their eight thousand mile, nine time zone crossing trip. Kristi was already up when I came downstairs and one by one they filed into the kitchen for breakfast. I thought I'd never be able to sit down to my eggs and muffin. After our late breakfast, everyone
got ready and we were out the door for an afternoon stroll on the corniche. "See juice stall, must stop" is Dustin's mantra. He had just eaten a bowl of cereal, a bowl of pasta salad, and two paninis for breakfast and an hour later he had to refuel with
thinking early dinner now that the kids are all upstairs sleeping and it's 5:50pm. That wraps up our first day with the kids. We look forward to the week to come.
Ryan was jealous that it's not "legal" for him to hold Kayla's hand in this country, so he opted for Dustin's.

Oh Fresh Christmas Tree
Oh Fresh Christmas Tree!
Here I sit staring at my "fresh" Christmas tree in anticipation of the kids arrival. Yes, I did say fresh, as in REAL! After I decorated the villa with my lovely four foot fake tree from the Dream Store, I ran across the real deal while grocery shopping at Carrefour. I immediately rang
