Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

We have housing!!

The good news...we have housing! The bad...still no passports. Oh well, you can't have it all. Oh, and we do have plane tickets. Yes, Kristi & I are scheduled to leave Sunday, June 3rd (if the government comes thru). Finally, a 3 bedroom villa is available to move in on June 1st. We won't have to move into David's temporary housing. Straight to our new home away from home. First thing on the agenda is to try our best to remove the "hotel decor" that all the bedrooms seem to have. That will definitely be a challenge. Other than that, we are EXTREMELY excited to move right in. And regarding those passports, KEEP Y'ALLS FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

P.S. Please note, that is not our villa overlooking the pool...just a pic of our compound in general!

Has anyone seen our Passports?

Here it is May 25 and our passports have not arrived. We were scheduled to leave June 1st, but somehow that does not seem to be promising. I did receive an email tonight, however, that the U.S. Department of State has forwarded my urgent request for answers on the status of our passports to the Houston office. What a relief, you know how fast the government is, I'm sure they'll be at my doorstep tomorrow morning! The only other snag is that the Qatari government hasn't decided if they are going to let David stay or not (as he is patiently waiting for us to follow). They have yet to give him medical clearance. Sometimes I wonder if we are really going at all.
