Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

Doha ~ You Make Me Smile

Quite a while back I had my taking it to the streets series with my "Hoe on the Go" motto...that would be for Tahoe, peeps. Now that I have my Jeep, I have to come up with something new, but what it is escapes me for the time being. Regardless, it's hard to travel Doha's streets without smiling, even if it is followed up by an arghhhh for traffic or "honking" infractions. I had to make a bank run to clear up some ATM issues before heading out of the country in a few days and as usual there was no parking available. So, what that means is hiking up and down the corniche for about a mile and enduring the honking that ensues. Of course, I was properly clothed from neck to toes with big shades hiding my face, but I may as well have been strolling in a bikini. Geez. It was like three honks walking towards the traffic and eight honks walking away from the traffic. I haven't decided if that's a compliment to my backside, an insult to my front side, or just downright cowardly creepers that can only honk when no one is looking. Again, arghhhh. Most of the time I can laugh it off, but today it was getting a bit out of hand. So, here are a few sights I saw afterward to put a smile back on my face...

Ok, so maybe this one doesn't really make me smile. It sort of makes me cringe. I keep eying it from different angles so that maybe I can see what the architect was going for, but so far, it's not working. I need to let it go.

Can you look at this pic without smiling? I had to pull out in from of someone to get this shot. There was a lot of hand action in my rear view mirror for my benefit. Just all in a days work for your viewing pleasure. You're welcome :-)

Qatar Cool? Yeah, in our dreams!

Who needs concrete steps when a nice little stool will do?

As you can see, it doesn't take a lot to make me smile. It just makes living in my own little bubble that much easier. Cheers!
