Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

Gender Bender

I may never be able to show my face in

Doha's Rogers Diner, again...

As if things aren't already lively enough for me in Doha, I go and hatch one of those uh-oh moments that left me shaking my head. I shared it on my facebook page earlier this week, but instead of gaining sympathy from my so called "friends" they laughed at me. I mean, I could be scarred for life, people. Nonetheless, I'm thankful that my mishap didn't occur at one of our usual hangouts and that no one I know was in sight, Mashalla.

I swear, they were foot washers!

  1. Many, many years ago, when my mom was a grad student, she and a classmate, also female, were busy chatting away as they left psych class in the PE complex. Engrossed in their conversation about Freud, Jung, et. al, they made a number of turns and passed through many doors along the rabbit maze of corridors. Suddenly, their path ahead was blocked, and they looked around at the wide space they were now in. They were standing in the middle of the men's lockerroom, surrounded by many gentlemen in various stages of undress and complete undress. They said "excuse us" and beat a hasty retreat. At least, that's their story and they're sticking to it!
