A sad, but true story...

Yesterday I decided to get some cash for David to have on hand for when he returns to Doha without me. I never get the max that I can on my card, so instead of figuring out exactly how many riyals that would be I saw an option on the ATM for U.S. dollars. Cool. I just tell them how much I want in dollars and it will convert that figure into Qatar riyals for me. Yes, it was one of those Bill Engvall "Here's Your Sign" moments as five crisp one hundred U.S. dollar bills appeared from the machine. Duh, it plainly said riyals or dollars, but I didn't think it meant literally. Being that I maxed out our limit yesterday, I will go for it again today. Wish me luck!

Speaking of ATM machines... I was at the mall last week when I saw two guys filling one up with cash. No security, no weapons, just a big green sack loaded with moolah. I mean, you would have thought they were just reloading a vending machine. There were three ladies waiting patiently in line giving them every bit of a three foot buffer zone to do their job. I had my camera, but I decided I better not take a chance, although I'm sure they would have just posed for me with cash in hand.

Gotta go pack. We're heading out early in the morning to catch our flight. Yes, the time has finally come for our desert departure. We'll be traveling from Doha to London to Dallas to Austin, just in case you need to track us down. Good luck on that.
