After a VERY late French toast breakfast yesterday morning, we paid a visit to Doha's newly opened Museum of Islamic Art. I'm not a big museum fan, but I have to say it was worth the visit. Even if you didn't make it inside the museum, just hanging around the grounds is a treat in itself. The fountains and architecture of the surroundings are pleasing to the eye and relaxing. We like to give Qatar a hard time about how they do things around here, but they've really done their country and people a service with this beautiful facility. There are thousands of artifacts from this side of the world presented in aesthetic fashion. I was really glad we went and look forward to visiting, again. After that we headed over to the Doha famed, Turkey Central to grab some Turkish food. The menu was very limited for our guest vegetarian, Ryan, so he had to settle for the maza appetizer tray while we ordered up some chicken shwarmas and grilled chicken. Ryan broke out in a rash for the second time this week after eating, so we're guessing that he and Arabic spices aren't the best of friends. Not to worry, though, we have three meds on hand to take care of his ails. This afternoon we take on the dunes of southern Qatar while a supposed cold front moves in. Temps will dip down to 61 degrees while out in the desert, which in itself will be a new adventure for us. As always, we accept your prayers that we survive to tell about it. Don't worry Mrs. Sosa, Ryan will be in professional Qatari driver hands...click here to witness their expertise behind the wheel.

Totally agree that the museum was quite impressive. The building alone was a sight to see.
