Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatarended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world,Doha!
Hmm...you make a good point, Aunt Marge. If I invite her, she'll refuse, but might help foot the bill! Wouldn't mom be a hoot in NY? I'd take her in a New York minute :)
Kristi...I thought I was going to have to take Fran up on her offer! Can't wait, girls!
I was wondering how long it was going to take Kristi to comment. Made me wonder for a minute if she was reading your blog. lol Y'all will have a blast.
As a former NYer (soon-to-be-Doha resident), I can tell you that you won't be disappointed. My husband is from Europe, where they tend to look down on American cities and destinations. Well, he now says NY is his favorite city on earth, and we've lived on several continents.
You guys will love it!
Don't miss: Dylan's Candy Bar, Times Square at night, either Lion King or Wicked on Broadway, karaoke in Chinatown, Top of the Rock at night -- the best view of the whole city, way better than top of the Empire State, biking or walking over the Brookyn Bridge, everything in Central Park, a walk-through of Tiffany's (so much beautiful jewelry), jazz at Small's in the village, cupcakes at Magnolia's Bakery, pedicures, Ellis Island museum, and 5th Ave. shopping, drinks at the Waverly Inn where all the celebs dine, and while there you You can stop to take a picture on Carrie's front stoop from Sex in the City on W 10th street or walk around the corner to her real house on Charles St.
Wow, Alexis! You have me pumped up. We will definitely bring your tips with us. Thanks so much for dropping in. Are you really Doha bound?? Email me with ANY questions you have. I would love to help with any concerns you might have. Keep in touch!
