Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

Decisions, Decisions

I'm just about totally nauseated right now...planning this trip to Paris-Germany-Switzerland is putting me in stress mode. My OCD and anal retentive compunctions are going into overdrive. Lucy, my ex "travel to Panama City Beach, Florida every opportunity available" partner, is trying to point me in the right direction. She's emailed me some great tips and much needed support, but she's left it up to me to actually "do" it. Where's the love? Window to My World, Karen, who lived in Paris for a while has sent me a to do list which is printed and stored for safekeeping. The only other thing that I can confirm is that we are all meeting in Paris. Flights for the kids, flights for us, and Shea's train ticket were purchased two days ago. No turning back now. Our return flight is from Zurich the following weekend, but we haven't figured out all the in between stuff. We're leaving on Thursday! The hotels that have been recommended to me are booked and scrolling through hundreds and hundreds of hotels and reviews on Trip Advisor is driving me insane. Whatever happened to those pre-Internet days when you just called up the Holiday Inn to book a room or called a travel agent? Me, aka control freak, use a travel agent? Who am I trying to kid, besides I'm all about saving a buck. Aye, there lies the rub. Please feel free to throw any suggestions my way. Put me out of my misery.

Paris forecast prior to our arrival, hopefully it will clear up!

P.S. My new camera has been ordered and should be meeting me in Paris via the kids! I won't know how to act not having to power down my camera after EVERY shot.

  1. If it wasn't for Lucy, we never would have gone anywhere!

  2. I sincerely hope you get a break with the weather...but don't count on it. Plan on light drizzle, carry a stylish raincoat (you ARE in Paris, after all) and don't leave home without your umbrella and a good attitude.
