Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

Wave Bashing Doha Style

For those of you that say Doha has nothing to offer, I have three words...get a life. Life doesn't knock at your front door and invite you to come out and play. You gotta get out of those vanilla colored concrete walls and find it yourself. Make your own fun. That's what we did Saturday evening out on the bay near the Islamic Museum. It was wave bashing, wave running, whatever you call it, at its finest. I guess you would say Doha style. These guys should charge admission (to pay for their much needed LIFE insurance, that is!). This playful event should definitely be added to the Qatar Happenings guide. I know no one in these pictures, but enjoyed watching every one of them just the same. I hope somehow, somewhere, this trickles down to the risk takers so they can see themselves in action. Next time, I'll have to do video so you can get the full effect. Thanks, guys. You made our weekend.
