Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatarended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world,Doha!

Boot Scootin' Boogie
Woohoo, date night! David and I are headed to the 12th Annual "Boot Scoot" sponsored by Doha's Texas A&M club. It's advertised to be an evening of music, dancing, door prizes, and a TEXAS sized buffet. Yeehaw! We won't have Brooks & Dunn, George Straight or The Bellamy Brothers (note to Mike, please arrange for the future) to play live, but there will be a D.J. on board to hook us up with all our favorites. I'm looking forward to dusting off my cowboy boots and hitting the floor. Oh shoot, never mind, I left those in Austin, never thinking the Middle East would beckon them. Improvisation is my specialty, so no worries. The caveat on the 350QR ticket is "CASH BAR". Geez, $97 a ticket and adult refreshments aren't included? Ok, ok, it's a fundraiser for a worthy cause AND we get to let our hair down and feel a little bit like we're back at the ranch. Meanwhile...gotta go practice my two step.

Darn it...wish I would have known you were there tonight. Would love to meet you sometime.
oh and btw...I finally went to Hong Kong Beauty Center this week. Gotta big kick out of the experience and will be back. Thank you again for the special post!
I love Doha just as it is, but it was pretty cool to be in a setting that felt TOTALLY TEXAS!
Glad you tried out Hong Kong...I went back this week and visited Myrna for a hair color (the secret's out!) and a trim. She did a great job. It's a one stop shop. Love it!
