Our five year adventure in Doha, Qatar ended June 1, 2012, but the memories will always remain. It's back to Texas where I have decided...Qatar isn't cornering the market on "quirky", as I once believed. Thanks for opening my eyes to the world, Doha!

Spring Break Deja Vu

It's going to be a cool one!

You can imagine my excitement when the headline flashes across my AOL screen warning to avoid Panama City Beach, Florida at all costs this spring break. Back up. Never mind, no doubt you're already ahead of me. Not too long ago the girls announced to me, " Roadtrip!" PCB, here they come. Joy. They leave today with a stopover at my mom's in Southeast Texas. I have to confess, I spent many a spring break, Easter break, Memorial day break, July 4th break, and Labor Day break on those very beaches. Favorite hangout, The Spinnaker. OMG, I just Googled it and it's still there, with LIVE streaming. I don't even want to look. I can still hear Funky Town in my head when I think of the place. And I further admit, we had the times of our lives, but I'm here to say that I was responsible and I lived through it. Heads up, Kayla and Kristi, I expect the same! Parenthood is not for sissies. Party on, dudes (and dudettes).

Which brings to mind an old fav...

  1. The Spinnaker! Achafalaya! Funny how we WANTED to travel when places would be crowded in those days. Now I like to go when no one's there. :-)
